Batsell Moore (1919-2010)
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

A memorial service for Batsell Shelton Moore was scheduled for 10 o'clock on Saturday morning, September 4, at Parkway Church of Christ, where he and his wife, Louise, were members. The Moores attended a number of Senior Saints meetings with their daughter, Terry Davenport, wife of Gary Davenport, who was the Parkway minister at that time.

Batsell was named for Batsell Baxter, the noted minister,  educator, and father of Batsell Barrett Baxter, who was also famous in the brotherhood. When Mr. Moore wrote his autobiography, he titled it "Batsell Is My Name," in honor of his namesake.

Batsell Moore was an architect, designer, and developer of homes in Texas and California, and was also a successful artist who had numerous one-man exhibits of his art work.

Mr. Moore was struck by an automobile on Friday, August 6, while crossing a street, and died in the hospital on Sunday, August 8. He leaves his wife; two sons, Steven and Ward; three daughters, Adona, Terry, and Anne Marie; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Instead of flowers, the families suggest a contribution to the mission of
